What to do when you have lots of virtual phone numbers

One of the main ideas behind having virtual phone numbers is that instead of having lots of different offices, you can have one office with virtual phone numbers from all of the areas your business is operating in pointing to the same place.

The problem resulting from this can be that you have so many different virtual local numbers that you don't have enough staff to answer all of the calls!

The Virtual Number Company not only provides local phone numbers, but also has a virtual reception - or call answering service, whereby any calls that you can't take gets diverted to their receptionists to answer in your business name.

Or, they can answer all of your calls for you if you're not in the office very much! A great little service!

Connection times

How long can you expect to wait for a virtual number to be connected?

There is a lot of variation between connection times of virtual phone numbers when one examines the website of key UK resellers.

Some quote instant connection while others state that it will be a minimum wait of 5 working days.

Why such a big difference?

Two reasons:

  1. Shorter connection times can mean the number you will be assigned is VOIP. Ask if in doubt as VOIP call quality is not always what it could be.
  2. The virtual numbers may be held in stock for large areas such as Birmingham, Manchester and London
Resellers include Gold Local Numbers and Send My Call.

Virtual Numbers For Privacy

I must admit it hadn't occurred to me but virtual phone number services can create provide an incredible level of privacy for their users.

Virtual numbers are really useful for anyone (whether they may be a business person or a private individual) who wants to keep their landline or mobile phone number confidential.

There are a few ways that a virtual number service improves privacy for its users which can be found in this cracking article:

Virtual number benefits...

You can now have a telephone number without a directly associated phone line. Also known as a “virtual number”, it can be pointed and forwarded on to a number of different contacts; be it a different phone line, fixed or mobile, or a voice over IP service.

Companies wanting to remain accessible and flexible whilst on the move, can give the impression that they are stationed in one particular geographical location by having a “virtual office”. For example, a company can have a mail forwarding service alongside a virtual number with an area code will give their customers the impression they are in one particular area.

Callers can now phone virtual numbers free of charge, proving beneficial to both companies and their customers. One example is a phone number beginning with “800” in North America; this local virtual number can allow businesses to receive calls from other areas without their callers having to face long distance phone call charges. Virtual number resellers in the UK include www.organiclocalnumbers.co.uk

These virtual numbers appeal to various companies for a number of reasons, whether it is a call centre wanting to source labour in different countries and appear local or companies with support departments wanting to offer a free service for long duration call. This means that no matter where the location or what the duration of the call, to the customer it won’t cost a penny and the company can also reap the benefits.

Virtual Numbers Service Launch

Telecoms Services Provider The Virtual Number Company has launched its Virtual Number Service. The service makes sure that all important business calls are picked up and answered by the appropriate person.

The Virtual Number Company service is designed for businesses people who are always on the go. This could include:
  • plumbing engineers
  • decorators
  • electricians
  • service engineers

Typically this type of tradesperson is not office based. This means in the past they have had to advertise a mobile phone number which is not appealing to customers who may have to pay high call charges to ring it.

The virtual number service is ideal for businesses who may not have premises in a particular area but want to draw enquiries from within that territory.

International Virtual Numbers

Many UK business owners are blissfully unaware that they can give themsleves an international presence by hooking up an international virtual phone number.

In the UK market place we know that many customers will only buy from local suppliers. This is why so many Bristish businesses have purchased virtual numbers ie if they are in Derby they get a Nottingham number.

Well, guess what folks - the same logic applies to the international market place. For example, let's say you are UK based and supply computer support to the USA. People will feel more comfortable dialling a New York or LA number than an overseas number.

Authorised telecoms resellers should be able to provide numbers for over 4000 cities worldwide.
